FAQ

  • My fee is $300 per 50–55 minute session.

  • I am in-network with Aetna for clients located in New York. Your standard copay or coinsurance will apply.

For clients in California, and for New York clients with other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider. Many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement. I provide superbills so you can use your out-of-network benefits.

If using out-of-network benefits, here’s the typical process:

    • you pay my fee at the time of session and I provide a superbill with the required information

    • you submit it through your insurance portal

    • your plan reimburses you directly

You may want to ask your insurance:

    • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?

    • What percentage is reimbursed per session?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?

  • I do not offer sliding scale, but Psychology Today and other directories can be helpful resources to explore other options.

  • For licensing reasons, you must be physically located in California or New York during each session.

  • Psychodynamic psychotherapy works best when we have time to build insight and a steady rhythm, but we tailor the pace together.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Some work with me short-term around a specific concern; others continue longer-term to explore deeper patterns and identity questions. We’ll discuss what feels right for you.

  • I work with high-achieving adults navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, stress, and the feeling of carrying more than they show. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware individuals who function well on the outside but feel disconnected or unsure internally.

My work often resonates with Asian American young adults (18–30s), including immigrants and international students, who are navigating:

    • anxiety and self-doubt

    • identity tensions

    • relationship patterns

    • high expectations from family, academics, or career

While this is a meaningful part of my practice, you do not need to share a particular cultural background to work with me. I welcome clients from all identities and experiences who connect with my approach.

  • Our first meeting is a chance to see how it feels to work together. I’ll ask about:

    • what’s bringing you in now

    • your history—family, relationships, identity, school/work, and coping patterns

    • what you hope might feel different moving forward

There’s no pressure to share everything at once. In psychodynamic work, the intake often unfolds over the first few sessions at a pace that feels comfortable and grounded.

  • I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full fee.
